The Origins
Expertise Rooted in Moineau™ Technology
More than 90 years ago, during the rise of aviation, René Moineau, an engineer and test pilot, developed a revolutionary progressive cavity pump concept, designed to transform the transfer of complex fluids. This invention, now known as the Moineau™ pump, became the foundation of PCM’s fluid management expertise.
In 1932, René Moineau partnered with Robert Bienaimé, aviator and leader of Groupe Gévelot, to establish Pompes Compresseurs Mécaniques (PCM). What started as a groundbreaking technical innovation quickly evolved into a recognized industrial company.

Structured Industrial Growth
(1980-2000)
The 1980s marked a turning point for PCM’s expansion. To meet the growing demand for fluid management solutions, PCM tripled the size of its workshops in Champtocé-sur-Loire, significantly increasing its manufacturing capacity. This period also saw the widespread recognition of Moineau™ pump technology across multiple industries.
By the 2000s, PCM launched a strategic international expansion, establishing subsidiaries in the USA, China, and the UK. With an enhanced presence in key markets, PCM strengthened its position as a leading reference in fluid management for industrial applications.

(2005-2012)
Between 2005 and 2012, PCM underwent significant organizational transformations to better serve its international customers:
- Reinforced internal structures to optimize the management of large-scale industrial projects.
- Brand identity evolution, reflecting PCM’s position as a global reference in fluid management expertise.
- Development of solutions for demanding environments, including the PCM Vulcain™ pump, specifically designed for the oil and gas sector.
In 2012, Mario Martignoni, a descendant of the Bienaimé family, took over as CEO, ushering in a new phase of growth for PCM. Under his leadership, PCM strengthened its technical expertise and expanded its global footprint, ensuring stability and long-term success.
